Create a Quiz

A Quiz can be a fun activity, or a way to test learning during training sessions. Before creating a Quiz, consider reviewing the article About Quiz Sessions.

How to create a Quiz

Follow these steps to create a Quiz session: 

  1. Create a Pigeonhole event.
    The Agenda page for the event displays.  
  2. Select Add session > Create new.

  3. Under Session Type, choose Poll: Quiz
  4. Under Quiz Agenda Information, enter the Session name. This will be the title of the Quiz session.

You can also nest the Quiz under different sessions.

Add Quiz questions

Next, add your Quiz questions, followed by a set of multiple-choice answers. You must enter at least two possible answers for each question and mark only one correct answer.

  1. Under Quiz Questions, select Add question.

    The Add Poll Question window opens.
  2. Enter a question in the Poll question field. Next to Answer options, enter at least two answers in the two answer fields provided.
  3. (Optional) To add another answer, enter it in the field containing the text “Type to add new option”.

  4. When you’re done adding answers, select Mark as correct next to the correct answer.
  5. Select a Projector chart type. The options are Vertical bar chart (default), Horizontal bar chart, and Pie chart. You can only choose one chart type for each question.

  6. Select Save.

    The Add Poll Question window closes. The questions you added display under the Quiz Questions section of the Session page.

  7. (Optional) To add more questions, select Add question and repeat Steps 2-6.

  8. Under the Quiz questions, choose the pace you want to use for the Quiz. The options are Presenter pace (with a timer), Presenter pace (without a timer), and Audience pace.

  9. Select Add Quiz

The Quiz saves. It displays on the Sessions tab of the Agenda page.

Edit or duplicate a Quiz

To edit a Quiz:

  1. Select Edit next to the Quiz.

  2. If the event has multiple sessions, you can save time by duplicating sessions and changing the necessary details. To duplicate a Quiz, next to the Edit button for the Quiz, select the dropdown arrow > Duplicate

Test run a Quiz 

To test your Quiz setup, you can use Test Mode

  1. In the sidebar for the event, select Run your event.
    The Run Your Event page displays.
  2. At the top right, slide the toggle next to Test Mode to enable it.

When Test Mode is enabled, you can open the Audience Web App and  Projector Panel to review event sessions as attendees will experience them. 

You can practise running a Quiz as an organiser with the Admin Panel or Moderator Panel. Solo presenters and others can practise running a Quiz with the Projector Panel. Responses submitted during Test Mode are not included in Quiz results or insights.
