What is a Multiple choice Poll?

A Multiple choice Poll is an interactive Session where an event organiser sets questions and options for participants to vote at their own pace. It is perfect for gathering quick opinions, understanding preferences, or making group decisions together. Use it to discover which topics resonate most with your audience, collect input on important decisions, or gauge sentiment on key proposals. Multiple choice polls give you instant insights as votes roll in and results update live on-screen in easy-to-read charts.

Pigeonhole Live offers several option types:

Type Description Use Cases
Text Options are presented as written choices (words, short phrases, or sentences).
  • Quick opinion polls
  • Preference questions ("Which topic should we cover next?")
Image Each option is represented visually with an image, making the poll more engaging and intuitive.
  • Choose a design concept, logo, or layout
  • Pick a menu item by looking at pictures
  • Select a destination based on visual appeal
Icon
  • Star ⭐
  • Heart ❤️
  • Thumbs up 👍
  • Tick ✔️
  • Mood or sentiment checks
Number Scale Options appear as fixed numbers (e.g., 1–5, 1–10) for rating questions.
  • Rate satisfaction or quality
  • Collect NPS (Net Promoter Score) data
  • Track improvement over time ("How confident are you now?")
Sliding Scale Respondents select any value on a continuous scale, giving more granular data than a fixed number scale.
  • Measure intensity of opinion ("How much do you agree?")
  • Capture nuanced feedback ("How spicy should the question be?")
  • Fine-tune preferences ("Set your budget range")
Ranking Respondents point-and-click to order items by preference or priority.
  • Decide which ideas to prioritize
  • Rank top topics to cover in a session
  • Sort features by importance to your audience
