What are Reactions?

Reactions are animated emojis that your attendees can use to react to moments in your live events, live streams, and on-demand videos.

Using the Audience Web App, audiences are able to click on emojis and have their reactions instantly reflected during an event.

  • Speakers can receive immediate feedback, enhancing engagement and interaction even in virtual or hybrid environments
  • Participants can gauge the sentiments and reactions of others, fostering a more connected and responsive experience
  • Organisers can access detailed analytics to identify and assess the emotional impact of various moments during the event

How to enable Reactions?

Reactions are available for all session types except breaks. It can be enabled for a session-group basis, ie, Enabling reactions for a parent session, and all nested sessions will also have reactions enabled.

Under a parent session’s settings, check Reactions to enable Reactions for all sessions in the group.

When enabled, Reactions will be displayed on the Dashboard Agenda view.

Customising Reactions

A range of emoji Reactions are available for selection, as well as the ability to upload customised reactions. For example, you could upload your organisation’s logo to make an event more on-brand.

How will it appear?

When enabled, audiences will be able to react via a widget on their Audience Web App. An animated emoji will display when audiences react, as well as when other audience members react. This fosters a greater sense of connection to the energy of the event, especially when having virtual or hybrid events

Audience members are also able to click on the chevron to collapse the reaction widget if they would like to concentrate on other content, allowing for greater control over their interactions.

When audience members react, Speakers will be able to see the reactions on their projected sessions.

Presenters can also show or hide Reactions animation on the projector panel via the Reactions toggle.

Admins are able to enable or disable Reactions for a session-group via the Admin panel.

For sessions with Reactions enabled, Admins can control Reactions animation appearance for a Projector Panel via Admin Projector Panel Controls. Audience members would still be able to react on their Audience Web App, but the Reactions will not be visible on the Projector Panel.

This is ideal for individual sessions which might not require reactions on the Projector Panel.

Embedding Reactions Widget on your website

If you are using a website or external platform where you engage attendees, and you want to have your Pigeonhole session’s reactions widget as a standalone item outside of the Audience Web App, you can embed the reactions widget onto your platform by generating an embed code.

How to get the embed code

Pre-requisite: Ensure that your session has reactions enabled

  1. In your Pigeonhole, click on More Settings> Integrations, then click to Integrate on Embed Reactions Widget.
  2. Select a session with reactions enabled. Note that all reactions on this widget will be attributed to the parent session.
  3. Click Get embed code to generate the reactions widget embed code.

Insights and Analysis

Reactions data are stored in the parent session of each session-group, and tracked by time (listed in the excel sheet export). This allows Organisers to take a closer look at the moments that resonate more with audience members.
