Quizzes

Quizzes are a great way to break the ice and inject fun into your meetings or test your participants’ knowledge during workshops and training sessions.

How quizzes work

Here’s the flow that occurs when you use a Quiz:

  1. Join: Participants access the Quiz through the Audience Web App at the start time.
  2. Launch: The presenter starts the Quiz.
  3. Score: Participants earn points as they answer questions.
  4. Results: When voting closes, the results appear on the Projector Panel and the correct answers are revealed.
  5. Conclude: The Quiz ends with a leaderboard displaying the winner and final scores.

About starting a Quiz

During an Event, you can start a Quiz:

  • From the Admin Panel: For larger events, an organizer might use this option to manage quizzes and other sessions for multiple presenters.
  • From the Projector Panel: A presenter can select Start Quiz directly from the Projector Panel. Solo presenters might prefer this option.

About Quiz paces

A Quiz uses one of the following paces:

Presenter pace with a timer

By default, a Quiz runs on Presenter pace with a 10-second timer for answering each question. The Quiz begins when the Admin or Presenter selects Start Quiz

The fields for setting up a Quiz in an Event Session. Presenter pace is selected. The drop-down list for selecting how long attendees will have to answer each question is expanded.

The Audience Web App is synchronised with the Projector Panel and Admin Panel. All interfaces show the same question at the same time.

The countdown for the question also displays on the Audience Web App and the Projector Panel. When the timer for voting on a question runs out (10-60 seconds), the Live results display for 10 seconds, and the answer is then automatically revealed for another 10 seconds. If you need more time to explain the answer, you can pause the Quiz. The audience automatically moves to the next question together. Participants cannot select Next to move to the next question on their own.

Conversely, if you wish to skip to the answer reveal screen, click the arrow to the right of the screen. The answer reveal screen similarly lasts for 10 seconds and can be paused or skipped to the next question.

After the answer reveal screen displays, the audience automatically moves to the next question together. Participants cannot select Next to move to the next question on their own.

Presenter pace without a timer

When setting up a Quiz on Presenter pace, you can choose not to time answers. The Quiz begins when the Admin or Presenter selects Start Quiz.

The Audience Web App is synchronised with the Projector Panel and Admin Panel. All interfaces show the same question at the same time.

With the timer field set to No time limit, the Presenter or Admin fully controls the pace of the Quiz by clicking through to the next question. Participants cannot select Next to move to the next question on their own. The Admin or Presenter must manually reveal the answer to each question.

Audience pace

This mode gives full control to attendees. Each person works through the Quiz independently and on their own time, without being synced to the Projector Panel. Only the Admin Panel and Projector Panel are synchronised at all times during the Quiz.

The Admin or Presenter can reveal the correct answer to a question at any time during a Session. Attendees only learn their scores after the Admin or Presenter reveals the correct answers. Note that the Leaderboard feature is not supported for this Quiz pace.
