An Event in Pigeonhole Live is the central hub for your audience interaction, serving as the container for all your Q&As, polls, and engagement sessions. It determines when the event takes place and what your audience sees.
Setting up your event correctly is the first step toward a seamless experience, allowing you to manage your agenda, configure participant access, and prepare your interactive tools. This guide walks you through the setup process to get your event ready for your audience.
Follow these steps to create an Event Pigeonhole:
- On your Dashboard, select Add Pigeonhole > Event.
- In the dialog box that opens, enter the details about the Event:
- Event type: Select In-person, Virtual for online-only events, or Hybrid for events that have a mix of in-person and online attendees.
- Event name: The event name to display in the Audience Web App.
- Passcode: The code attendees use to access the Event through the Audience Web App. Enter a custom value or select Use random passcode. Read more about choosing Passcodes.
-
Expected total participants: The number of participants you expect to access the Audience Web App throughout the event duration.
Tip: Make sure you have the right Pigeonhole plan to support the number of participants you’re expecting for the event. You can always upgrade your plan after setting up the Pigeonhole. - Event dates: The date range of the Event. The sessions you add to this Pigeonhole are constrained by this duration. For more, See Understanding the Pigeonhole Duration.
- Timezone: Set the Timezone before creating sessions, as changing it later requires manual updates. Use the first drop-down list to select the country. This step filters the following drop-down list for relevant timezones. Select the base Timezone. While this serves as your workspace anchor, attendees will automatically see Session times in their own device’s local time.
- Select Continue to move to the next step, where you will add one or more sessions to the Event Pigeonhole.
