Managing permission and setup policies for the Pigeonhole Live app on Microsoft Teams

As an organisation admin, you can manage permissions and setup policies for the Pigeonhole Live app on Microsoft Teams from the Teams admin centre. 

Note: 

Please ensure that the following URLs are whitelisted to prevent the app usage from being affect by internal network or domain restrictions.

How to access the Teams admin centre?

On Microsoft Teams, click on your profile on the top right-hand corner of the page. In the drop-down menu, select Teams admin centre. In the Teams admin centre, select Teams apps on navigation panel on the left.

To ensure that Pigeonhole Live is available on channels, meetings, and group chats for your users in your organisation, you need to ensure that the app is listed as allowed under Manage apps and Permission policies

1. Manage apps 

You’ll find the list of all the apps available on Microsoft Team on this page. Use the search bar to search for Pigeonhole Live and select the app.

On the app information page, you will see a status toggle that lets you Allow or Block the app. Make sure that the toggle is switched to Allowed, as shown below.

2. Permission Policies 

In the Permission Policies page, click on Global (org-wide default)

Under Third-party apps

  • Allow all apps is selected or;
  • If Allow specific apps and block others is selected, ensure that Pigeonhole Live is added to the list of allowed apps or;
  • If Block specific apps and allow others is selected, ensure that Pigeonhole Live is not added to the list of blocked apps

If you use the permission policy of Allow specific apps and block others, you can add Pigeonhole Live on the allow list by clicking on Allow apps.

Search for Pigeonhole Live in the side panel that will slide out on the right-hand side of the page and click Add, and select Allow at the bottom of the side panel.

Once Pigeonhole Live is added to the Allowed apps list as shown below, make sure to click Save at the bottom of the page.

If you use the permission policy of Block specific apps and allow others, you can remove Pigeonhole Live from the list of blocked apps by clicking on the app name to select it and then clicking on X Remove on the menu bar above the list.

Note: The settings in 1. Manage apps will override any app permission set under 2. Permission policies. I.e. If Pigeonhole Live is listed under allowed apps under Permission policies, but is blocked under Manage apps, users in your organisation will not be able to add and connect to the Pigeonhole Live app in their meetings, channels, and group chats. You will also see this error message in Permissions policies.

3. Setup Policies

If you’d like to automatically install Pigeonhole Live for all the users in your organisation, you can do so in the Setup Policies page.

Click on Setup Policies in the navigation panel on the left and select Global (org-wide default).global_setup.png

Under the Installed Apps section, you can install Pigeonhole Live globally for all users in your organisation by clicking Add apps.

Then, search for Pigeonhole Live in the side panel on the right-hand side of the page and click Add, and select Add at the bottom of the side panel.

Pigeonhole Live will appear in the list of Installed apps.

Note: If Pigeonhole Live is installed globally for all users in your organisation, they won’t be able to remove it from the apps list under Manage Team> Apps for their respective teams. 

 

Finally, you can also pin Pigeonhole Live to the Teams app navigation bar so users in your organisation can easily access it. To do so, click +Add apps under the Pinned apps section.

Then, search for Pigeonhole Live in the side panel on the right-hand side of the page and click Add, and select Add at the bottom of the side panel.

Pigeonhole Live will appear in the list of Pinned apps.

Once successfully added, the Pigeonhole Live app will appear on the navigation bar on the side left-hand side of the page in your Teams app for all the users in your organisation.
