The Pigeonhole Live app for Zoom supports Zoom Guest Mode for both authenticated and unauthenticated users. With Guest Mode, your meeting attendees can access the Pigeonhole Live app for Zoom even if:
- they are not signed in to their Zoom account
- they are signed in with an email address that is not in the same account as the host
- they did not install the Pigeonhole Live app
Limitations for users using the Pigeonhole Live app for Zoom on Guest Mode:
- Unauthenticated guest users cannot discover or launch the Pigeonhole Live app. They can only access the Pigeonhole Live app once it is sent to them by an authorised user.
- Authenticated guest users can discover the Pigeonhole Live app, but will have to install it in order to launch the app.
Guest User experience on the Pigeonhole Live app for Zoom
1. When a guest user joins a meeting, they will be asked to sign in to the Zoom account in order to access Zoom Apps.
2. Without signing in, guest users can still access and use the Pigeonhole Live app if the app is sent to them by the meeting owner.
3. When a user opens the Pigeonhole Live app in Guest Mode, they will see a banner at the top indicating that the app is being used in Guest Mode.
4. The guest user will be signed in to Pigeonhole Live’s audience view with their display name.
5. In the meeting insights (which can be accessed on the Pigeonhole Live Workspace), guest users who have accessed the Pigeonhole Live app will be listed in the attendee list with their display name. The attendee code will show “guestxxx” to indicate that the user accessed the app in guest mode.
Note: If a user edits their screen name after accessing the app, their profile name on Pigeonhole Live will still reflect the initial screen name.
Guest user signing into an account that has not installed the Pigeonhole Live app
1. The guest user can choose to sign in to their Zoom account if they have one. Simply click on the Guest Mode label and select Sign in to Zoom.
The user will remain in guest mode on the Pigeonhole Live app after signing in to their Zoom account and can continue to use the Pigeonhole Live app in guest mode.
2. Guest users may also choose to add the Pigeonhole Live app to access its full functions. To do so, click on the Guest Mode label and select Review permissions and add this app.
3. The user will be redirected to authorise the Pigeonhole Live app for Zoom. Once the app is authorised, it will automatically refresh to regular mode. The user will now be signed in on the Pigeonhole Live app with their Zoom profiled details.
Guest user signing into an account that has previously installed the Pigeonhole Live app
1. If the guest user had previously installed the Pigeonhole Live app, upon signing in to their Zoom account the Pigeonhole Live app will automatically refresh to regular mode. The user will now be signed in on the Pigeonhole Live app with their Zoom profile details.
Note: If your profile name on the Pigeonhole Live app still shows your display name, manually refresh the app by clicking on More options> Refresh App.
Guest user signing into an account that has Attendee SSO enabled
Note: Guest mode is not supported when Attendee SSO is enabled.
1. If attendee SSO is enabled for the Pigeonhole, meeting attendees may not use guest mode to access the Pigeonhole Live app. Upon opening the app, guest users will see this message.
2. Guest users will be required to sign in to their Zoom account and complete the SSO authorisation on the Pigeonhole Live app following the on screen instructions. Once SSO authorisation is completed, the attendee will be able to use the Pigeonhole Live app.
Guest user experience when assigned as a meeting host
1. Before assigning a guest user as the meeting host, the meeting owner needs to first add the Pigeonhole Live app and create a session. Then, assign the guest user as a host.
2. Once the guest user is made host, the Pigeonhole Live app will refresh to show the Admin View for the guest user. The user can access all admin functions to manage and moderate the Pigeonhole Live sessions in guest mode.
