What is an email verification code?
An email verification code is a short numeric code that is sent to your attendee’s email address when they login to the Audience Web App. It is an added security step that ensures only authorised attendees gain entry.
Settings to note before enabling email verification feature
There are 2 settings to take note of before you can enable the email verification feature.
Set email field as Required
1. On your Workspace, go to More Setting > Attendees.
2. Under Profile Information, there are various field types. The Email field is set as Optional by default. You will need to change the Email field to Required.
3. To change the Email field to Required, click Edit.
4. A pop-up window will appear.
5. Check the Required box and click Update.
6. The Email field is now set as Required. Remember to click Save after.
Enable registrant profiles
1. On your Workspace, go to More Setting > Attendees.
2. Under Registrant Profiles you will find the setting: Enable registrant profile.
This setting is disabled by default when you create a Pigeonhole.
3. Once you enable the registrant profile, click Add a registrant to input your attendee details.
Note: Your attendees will only receive the email verification code if their details are added to this list.
How to enable email verification feature for in-person attendee?
1. On your Workspace, go to More Setting > Security.
2. Under Email verification, the setting is disabled by default and it can only be enabled after you set the email field as Required under Profile information and enable Registrant profiles.
3. Simply check the box to enable the email verification feature. Remember to click Save after.
How does the email verification feature work on the Audience Web App?
1. On the Audience Web App, the event passcode will entered by default.
2. Your attendees will need to enter their email address and click the arrow to proceed.
3. If their email address is in the registrant profile list, the email verification code will be sent to their inbox.
Note: Attendees have 3 minutes to submit the code before it expires. If they are unable to receive the code, they will have to wait for 90 seconds before they can click Resend Code. Please advise your attendees to check their Junk/Spam folder for the code.
4. Attendees can enter the email verification code and click Submit.
5. Once they have submitted the code, they will be able to access the event sessions.
